A particular specialism of the practice is the conversion and development of residential care homes and for many years OWL have been advisors to the Greensleeves Homes Trust, a major institution in this sector. In addition we have experience of working for local NHS Trusts, surgeries and private clinics. All of these projects require a broad understanding of end-user requirements and often involve demanding programme and phasing constraints. 1. BROADLANDS Residential Care Home, Lowestoft (2002 –). OWL were originally involved with a 500 sqr m addition to the home in 2002 but are also involved in further extensive works. 2. GROSVENOR HOUSE Residential Care Home, Hastings (2006). A comprehensive £2.2 million extension and refurbishment of an existing home whilst fully occupied. 3. NHS TRUST, Ivry Street, Ipswich (2005). Internal alterations to create a new reception area and unite disparate parts of the building. 4. THORNBANK Residential Care Home, Ipswich (- 2007) Refurbishment and maintenance works further to original conversion and enlargement works undertaken by the practice. 5. TYPICAL RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR. A high standard of finish and fit-out is a core requirement of our brief.
