The Manor House is a Grade II* Listed Georgian town house prominently located in the centre of Southwold. The project comprised its renovation and refurbishment together with layout alterations and a number of structural and fabric repairs. Despite unsympathetic earlier modifications the Conservation Officer felt that some of the proposed changes were inappropriate and insisted on revised proposals. Planning and Listed Building consent was eventually obtained in January 2009 further to protracted negotiations with English Heritage. A number of new structural beams were installed to enable alteration of the upper floors which necessitated Party Wall matters (undertaken by OWL) given the presence of a flying freehold.
