The Ashley School provides a specialist educational environment for children with moderate learning difficulties and was recently given an outstanding endorsement by OFSTED. OWL Architects were involved with the construction of a new Sports Hall and changing facility together with the alteration and refurbishment of ICT and Science classrooms. The Sports Hall is formed by a steel portal frame and enclosed by insulated cladding panels above a masonry base.  The inner surface of the walls is lined with acoustic panelling to mitigate reverberation and impact noise. A sprung solid hardwood floor is incorporated to give maximum sports performance and is combined with an under floor heating system to give efficient and obstacle free heating.
